I do a lot of mowing and maitenance. i have a power washer but have never used it except for personal stuff. a friend recently asked me if i would powerwash his house and i was wondering how you would charge for that. do you charge an hourly rate or by square footage or whaat?? thanks in advance for the help

I do it by the hour as well...if they want an estimate for the whole job, just add the hours up of what you think and give them that price...Good luck.

Know your costs just like any other business and figure what you want to profit above that. It is hard work. We charge a min of $170 for a small 1 story house up to 400-500 for 2 storys with basements and roof work.
Tinman, your rates are the closest I have seen for a lawncare company. Sometimes I get "My lawn guy said he would wash my house for $75." Thanks for keeping prices pretty much up there. We have a set min. for 287 and offer different packages that go up from there. Yes, in the fall, we do offer discounts, coupons etc, but in the spring/summer its at least 287 or we dont do it.

we charge by the hour with a $250 minimum to cover mobilization, equipment rental, and fuel. this is mostly for existing customers that allow us to just "keep track of our time" with the power washer. i typically give them a rough estimate up front, i.e., "it should take us 4 hours to clean that patio and walkway." i've found that it's a nice little service to provide during the slower winter months.

wow... please stop pressure washing

Pressure washing a patio and walkway should not take any where near 4 hours to complete. Upgraded equipment is probably in order. Minimum of 4 gpm and a 20" surface cleaner will make life much easier. If it is taking that long you are probably cleaning with a wand. I believe that is the point he was trying to make.

If you do not know what you are doing do not pressure wash,as for slabs some are so dirty it will eat you up in time, hot water is a must with chems to lift the dirt, you are not going to get $400 to $500 a house in my area, for a base on price with hot water a chems around $65 per hour, and before i get slammed being a low baller different pricing in different areas......

Are you talking about Berea or Kentucky in general?

Our We get $350 and up for house washes in Lexington. Also those only take an hour, so must be a Berea price.

Not slamming, just stating that not all of KY is on that pricing scale.
