how do you guys do it?

    how do you guys do the estimating on how much to charge would it be like pricing a landscape job or is there a different way and what kind of things should be taken into consideration when pricing

    Yeah, it's just like pricing a landscape job. I take into account all the material costs I know are going to be there. I make an estimate on how well I think the job will install as far as difficulty, and the I price it the way my experience suggests I need to so I don't hate myself when it is over for working for almost free. At 16, you could find a good company and put in a summer or two on an install crew, that might give you a start at a foundation. Digging ditches for $8-10 an hour isn't my idea of a good time anymore, (it didn't pay that well back when I was learning) but it is probably the best place to start.
