Up here in Oregon, I rains... pretty often.

In the past, I have generally canceled appointments if it started drizzling, but I am wondering now if there is perhaps a better way.

What do you guys do when it rains?

    Keep mowing...

Its nice every now and again on my last account if it starts sprinkling, nice end to the day to cool down.

But down here after the 40th lightning strike, then I will go sit in the truck lol. There lawn isn't worth my life.

This is what's in the info sheet that I give my customers:

We make every effort to mow on the day we schedule for your service. Occasionally there are unavoidable circumstances that keep us from making our appointments. Chief among them is rain. We can and do mow in a light rain, but sometimes it’s just too much for us and our equipment. When we get behind, we will attempt to catch up on the following day. If we can not get to you within three days of your normal schedule, we’ll skip that week and catch you the next time around. Of course your bill will be adjusted accordingly. We try very hard not to mow on Saturday, and we do not mow on Sunday when many people want to enjoy their lawns.

I'm currently only mowing three days a week, so it makes it easier to get caught up if we get behind.

I guess we're fortunate up here. Lightning is almost never a problem! :)

I used to try to stop the rain, but gave up. It just falls when it wants to so there is nothing I can do about it.

Seriously, you live in Oregon and cancel when it drizzles? Isn't that like every other day in some areas and in certain times of the year?

Exactly. I've been doing it almost as a hobby, but now I am planning to make it a real business.

We get mostly "Splash and Dash" rain here. It'll rain (thundershower/storm) and then leave. If I'm out in the field I'll check it out on my phone and if it's just a small event I'll wait it out.

I Keep rain gear on the truck including boots... keep mowing till the rain gets too heavy or God send down a message to take cover. Shindi 802's are really helpfull cleaning up.

I keep mowing until people come out and chase me off with broomsticks.

I've mowed through the rain, waited for it to stop. Started in the rain, stopped for it to finish. You name it, we've done it.

Few years back it rained every Tuesday for 5 or 6 weeks. Royal PITA, just kept on mowing.

I installed a landscape during a tornado warning.

Usually head for cover when the lightning starts, I have no intentions of having curly hair.
