I would put the logo up on top either centered or on left side of page

What is the special rate? I would be skeptical if I got this flyer thinking the guy is just going to mark his prices up 10% before I get the 10% discount.

Well, duh! That's what you do. There is no such thing as something for free or a discount. It's all built into the price of the job.
Don't get me wrong, you can give someone a "good" deal, as long as you make up for it some other way.

Exactly. I was recently testing this while flipping through one of my Turf mags. Nearly all the big companies that are able to hire someone to market for them put something catchy at the top and their name / logo is usually suprisingly small somewhere at the bottom.
    Imitate "the big boys".

it only makes sense, people read from top to bottom. if they currently have a lawn service when they first see: 10-E Lawn Care. They will not continue to read, but if they see Free Lawn Care it might make them keep reading and if they see something they like they will see your number and make the call. Free Lawn Care prob. isn't the best heading, they would figure its some kind of scheme or theres some catch.

maybe, act now and save XX $
or .. spend time with your family not with your yard !

that website i posted has a lot of great tips for all kinds of advertising.

Looks like the same flyer I see in my mailbox...........all the time. Try to be different. Ask yourself, "Why call this guy over the guy who put a flyer in my box yesterday?"
