Central NJ, When do you end mowing, mid November?
WHEN THE GRASS STOPS GROWING!
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
You're basically in the same region as me. I'd say from mid to late April trough late September to mid October. Roughly 6 months. But like said above, the calendar doesn't matter.
When I worked for a college in the Lehigh Valley, we sometimes mowed into December, especially if soccer or football teams made it into playoffs.
Our fertilized lawns are always the first ones needing mowing, usually mid April (can be sooner though) depending on what kind of Winter we had. Last ones to mow are the same Fertilized ones that get one last cut low in the first week of November. After that, it is 4 - 6 weeks of Fall cleanup of the leaves.
BTW, I'm in Hunterdon County doing this now 14 straight years.
last year we cut into november, grass wouldnt stop growing. hopefully we'll get enough snow to plow this year
