I'm looking for a commercial mower and this time of year, there's quite a few. But how many hours is to many? Like this Exmark Lazer with 1,321 hrs..

1321 hrs sounds like to much, but is it?

    Thanks

I'm always looking at equipment to see if there's a good deal. And I look for things under 800hrs. I just feel like 1300hrs is just too many.

    Original engine?
    If so, don’t buy it.

From experience I consider 1500-2000 hrs the average life span of a commercial mower gas engine.

Unless it's a great deal and you're willing to gamble I'd pass on most things with 1k+ hrs.

At 1300 hrs, your looking to start fixing some issues with it, as they start cropping up!

But, god love lawn site, because some jackleg will get on here and tell you about his mower with 2000 hrs that they haven’t done anything to! Wishful thinking, they all break down irrespective of color! Pass and keep looking!

Think of it as kinda car mileage, not exact but general. 1000 hours = 100,000 miles +/-. Now we are talking a basic rule..

If it were like a fairway reel/triplex, I might take the chance, because they have to keep their stuff working.

But used commercial, no I wouldn't over about 1200 hours.
