How many miles should an f250 last for?

    I second this but for people starting out a new truck isn't quite affordable. But then again I have pretty much spent the entire amount for new equipment in the old with repairs. Plus with new stuff you can look forward to warranties and what not. From this point on I am buying nothing but new!

    Who cares about reliability and image?

    I made the mistake putting 37's on my f250. Had 35's and it pulled great(PS 7.3 motor). With that big of a tire and just a 5.4 I would pass on it for towing. Don't get me wrong tho, I have a f150 34's/ 5.4 and it does good in town towing. But on the highway, you need more motor. BTW my f150 has 199k, and still runs good.

    i know a lot of people who tell me to stay away from the 2004 onwards f250, i have a 2002 and its got 136,000 on it, i love it, i get great gas mileage even when pulling a 16ft trailer, i change oil every 3-4k miles and i have nothing bad to say about it. ive had a to do some maintenance, the intake started to leak causing engine to run hot and thats been it so far. cost around $250 for new intake kit from autozone, id say its pretty good for the mileage and hard work i put it through every day. ive done about 25k in it since Ive bought it a year ago. i expect to get over 250,000 out of this truck.

    197K hard towing and plowing miles on my 2002 f250 with the 5.4 engine. The only problems with the engine was a nox sensor and intake manifold

    I have a 2005 f-250 super duty I bought new, about to turn 200k and we plowed with it up to about 150k

    My 07 with the v-10, is right around 245,000 right now. The largest repair other than routine maintenance is that for some reason the left upper ballpoint needs replacing every 20k miles or so. No clue why

    05 F250 V10....267k. Runs like a champ, pulls a lawn trailer daily. I think it may need a new upper ball joint on left side soon.

    That a bummer your truck suffers from premature stationery failure :laugh:. Nothing worse then ballpoints that don't last.
