You would be surprised, some guys actually wheelie the skid loaders for fun. There's a lot of videos of this on youtube. The older machines are easier to tip backwards, and mine didn't even come with a roll over structure....nice! As for backing, what's this about not being able to see behind you? Perhaps different machines have more or less visibility?
 
Actually I am sure a lot of you guys who run skid loaders deliberately pop on the back tires when making a turn on someone's lawn. I had a friend who would ask me to do the weekend jobs for him so he cound be home with his family, and I would run his 763 to spread mulch, remove debris, etc. Once I had a homeowner who was concerned the machine would flip but I explained it was so I wouldn't tear the grass up. He demanded I stopped doing it, but before I did I made him sign a paper saying we weren't responsible for lawn damage. Job went a lot faster but it was weeks before that lawn grew back.
