I have an 8' dump insert in my 96 F250. I have 12" side boards. I can mound up 3 yds in mine. 4' sides is pretty high. Your concern may be the back though. You can mound the sides up but eventually it will want to run out the back. Maybe you can put a couple boards across the back fairly easily that are removable.
One thing to consider though. That Chevy isn't exactly made to be a dump, nor is my Ford. The added weight of the dump insert along with 3 yards of mulch is a fairly decent load for my F250. It could definitely take another yard but I don't really think I could come close to hauling 6 yds even if I had the capacity in the dump, the weight would be the problem. The dump is 750lbs then another 800lbs on average for a yard of mulch. ballpark you're looking at a total weight of 3200 lbs for 3 yds plus an insert. Just something to think about.
