    Hey everyone,

I need some advice. I am bidding a lawn install on a newly constructed house. The area is 14,000 sq ft. I will be rockhounding, fine grading, seeding, starter fertilization, rolling, and straw mulching. What is the going rate per square foot for this type of work? I added up everything and did the math and I am coming up with $0.36 per square foot. I know you would need to see the job, but it looks a lot better then some from the start. Thanks for all the help.

A hydraulic seeder company would do it for a lot less. Probably they would skip most of the preparation work--or charge extra for it.

    Wow that's a 5k lawn

Should be little less but I'm not from your area Bid that way if you don't get it ask them how high you was. Then you will learn the market value
How much Seed you putting down and What type?
How many straw bales you have figure? You blowing it or shaking it out ?
    How many lbs of Fert.?
How many hrs you thinking of labor for ?

That job is probably only 2-3 hrs with a few guys if you have equipment.
Materials would be, $150 for premium seed, less than $150 for straw, and less than $50 for fert. Thats comes to roughly $350 for material plus what you want to charge for you equipment and labor. You're at roughly $4300 after materials for at most a half day.
Depending on location, most companies would do 4-14k installs in a day. $17000+ a day minus labor would be like hitting the lottery.
