I'm just starting my own landscaping service and my client wants me to cut his grass each week. Now he picked up some pine straw and want me to mulch his flower beds. I will not remove the old mulch simply put down new mulch on top. The flower beds are located around the house and he has 1068 sq ft to mulch.

I would charge him $2.50 per bale to install it.

2.50-3.00 per bale is what I charge if the customer supplies it.

Thanks for this helpful advice. If the client said you get the bales for me and install it. How do I calculate how many bales I need. I have a job on Tuesday and the client has 126 sf and want me to put down some new pine straw?

First of all I get $4.00 per bale to install.....that is if the customer has the pinestraw on premise already. If I have to provide the pinestraw it is $8.50 per bale installed.

You can figure about 50 square feet of coverage per bale to estimate how many bales you will need.

I charge $4.00 a bale to install only. $8.00 a bale to pick them up and install.

$8.50 a bail is the norm for the Charlotte area. By the way were is "Charolette"?
