Hi i am new to landscaping and have a customer that wants a small landscape block retaining wall. That is about 20 yards long and 3 blocks tall. I just dont know how to charge for this. It would be my first real landscape job. Do you charge by the hour or what? And how much would you charge?

So the wall is going to be 60 ft long, do you really want to judge the height by the blocks, their are so many different blocks out their with different heights. Next have you ever done a wall before, normally I charge by the square face foot,

I have never done a wall for a customer that will pay me. I have done a couple for family. One alone. I would say each block is about 5 or 6 inches.

Add up all of you material costs

Add up your overhead..........fuel, insurance, taxes, tools, equip maint etc

Add up how many days it will take you to complete

Figure how much you need to make each day to cover your overhead

Add in how much you want to make each day........$100 profit per day isn't going to get you anywhere by the way

    = a simple way

why don't we have a damn sticky for this, i swear this forum sucks on useful stickies
