    Hey guys
how much should i charge per yard to spread top soil. just to spread it. The top soil will be delivered by some one elce. I need to spread it on eather side of an 1200 foot drive way. Probally about 10 yards and i will have to rent a skid steer. Thanks.

with the skid steer, that shouldn't take you too long. I charge 30 a yard, but it depends on how far i'm lugging it. so in this case, $300 plus skid steer... might have to charge less if the rental is too high. just an estimate though, have to see it.

When I cost out a job I usually figure the topsoil at forty five dollars a yard, that's the cost of the topsoil (I use a soil/compost mix usually $17 per yard) and spreading it, so I'm getting a little less than $30.

Ok i'm asking the same question i asked a year ago. I got one guy saying i to charge 30 a yard and one guy saying 50 a yard? I'm gonna get a skid steer and i have to do 25 yards. 4000 sq feet. So i think i'm going to charge 1550 for spread top soil and seed and maybe pen mulch. Does that sound right?
