How do I bid a canary palm tree relocating job. It is 50 miles from where trees is , to where it needs to go.10 foot palm.so I think I can dig it up
Ooooh Wow Have you ever done this before? You know palms don't come with root balls right? When you dig them up it's like a carrot. You might need to cable it at the other end when replanting to keep it upright until it roots. Take the time you think it will take to dig it up Multiply by four Add in your travel/transport Multiply that by two And then add 50% more to the whole dang bill because they'll want you to replace the tree when they don't water it. Transplanting should always cost more than just buying one and planting it from a nursery, that's just my two cents. Unless you're really skilled at transplanting it's literally way more work than you're imagining. Even I haven't transplanted a palm and I know what I'd be in for and wouldn't want to do it. I always hated planting palms and tried to avoid it if I could.
Eeeeeek You’re on you’re own man Not that I haven’t done it before Just not enough to be good at it and it was always part of a larger job so I think other things like hardscape saved the profitabilty. Remember with palms there’s no big root ball to counter balance the tree when planting It’s like a big carrot So they usually need to be cabled when new
