Hey guys need your expertise. How do you know if the wheel motor or the pump go bad.

When my mower is cool I have some hesitation in the right pump when I go in reverse or forward. Then when it heats up it is fine. Is there any test I can do to see which one could be the culprit? The last hydro change about a 100 hours ago they found metal pieces but no problem till now. Only in the morning and after a longer period of sitting....

Its the pump, the pistons in the rotor are sticking , The metal you found in your last service is probably from pump parts.

If it was the wheel motor, it would progressively get weaker as it warmed up.
