I have a chance to buy a new 2004 Hustler Hydro 37inch cut 15hp kaw. for 40% off. List price is $5280.00 Sale $3168.00 For those of you that own one what can you tell me about them both good and bad. I went to the dealer and tried it out in the lot and I really liked it. I know that is not as good as real world experience but hey its December. My only concern was that it was long and I want it for small properties where the Z is just not practical and for when something happens to my Z I have a backup. It handled well and was easy to control. but you really need to use it for a while to see if it is right for you or not. Any help would be appreciated. Also how is the cut? Thanks Dave.

bought new in 2003. Easiest walk to learn to use. First timers get on it and go. Those used to pistol grip controls usually take a bit longer to learn???go figure.

anyway, search here for tons of information concerning the Hustler Hydro.

I posted tons of pictures and comments back when I first joined lawnsite. Pictures show the machine in action.

Great choice! I did the exact same thing last year. I got the 37" hydro for $3750.00 and loved it. You will not find an easier hydro to use. It is a little long and bulky, but is built like a tank. It is so fast, 8 miles an hour fast, get a sulky and you will fly. If this is only going to be used for really small yards though, you could do better with a Hustler Trimstar.

Monroe Power Equipment in Covington has a 2006 44" Hydro Trimstar for about $3,700. You may want to look at that one as well.

That's a great price for a hydro wb with the H bar steering. It is a little long, but the steering should compensate a lot for that, in that it's so easy to use. It'd be hard to turn down that offer if a 37" is what you need.
