Greetings, I am interested in which is a better commercial unit - Hustler Z4, Husqvarna PZ542xFx...or just a Bad Boy Pup? I have been researching for a while and keep getting back to the Hustler cause I have a local dealer that is pretty good with service, he sells Hustler. Or would a Walker be the better bet? :dizzy: Thanks

If you only got those 3, go hustler.

Stay away from the husqvarnas... make sure you have dealer support for either on or the other..

These guys have got this totally wrong. The PZ is in a different class all together. The PZ is as commercial as it gets, the other two are entry level at best. The PZ will run circles around both of these machines and be around long after the others have died.

Do yourself a favor and just look at the specs.

Let’s start with the hydro system.

    PZ - 16cc Hydro-Gear Pumps, 18ci Parker Wheel motors.
    Z4 -12cc pumps 15ci wheel motors
    Pup - 10cc pumps, 15ci wheel motors

The larger PZ system translates to lower system pressures and temperatures, the ability to carry more load and ultimately longer life. Oh yeah, the PZ has a higher ground speed than both machines too.

How about the decks? The scalp rollers on the PZ are double supported. The others will be flopping around loose after a few good knocks. The PZ deck is fabed 7ga with huge cast iron spindles (10” diameter mounting surface). The Z4 deck is 30ga with small aluminum spindles. The quality of the components used on the PZ deck are the best available. Huge 7” Don Dye idlers with sealed NTN bearings. No “Made in China” crap on there. The productivity of the new PZ deck will amaze you.

Look at the deck lift/suspension systems on all 3. The PZ uses cast iron struts, pedal, and bellcranks. The other 2 use much smaller fab'd steel parts.

The PZ has the suspended operator platform along with the standard suspension seat. No suspension on either the Z4 or Pup.

Standard flat-free tires on the front of the PZ. Z4/Pup - nope.

Just look at the construction of the frames of the 3 machines. Just by looking at them you can see the PZ is by far the “beefiest” of the 3. No comparison.

Like I said, do yourself a favor, get the facts, and look at all 3 machines. You’ll see there is no comparison. The PZ is the better machine.

Oh yeah, and if you ever have a problem with the Husqvarna support system, just post or PM. I'm part of the Engineering Group. I've been on here every day for the last 4 years. I'll do what ever I can do to make it right.

If I had to pick one I would get the Hustler and I would never take the opinion of someone who works for the manufacturer, they will say whatever to get you to buy there product, and I dont use any of those mowers so my opinion is not bias but I have ran all of them, the only one I would even consider is the Hustler, I do know Hustler has great factory support.
