Hydro-Engages in Reverse When Levers are Moved out of Neutral Lock

I bought my first hydro. Scag 48" w/b.

When the machine is in neutral, you put it in gear, release the brake and then flip the levers to get it out of neutral. Well the machine engages in reverse when I squeeze the handles. I can't squeeze the handles any less and still flip the little levers.

The book explains how to make an adjustment so that this won't happen, but is very confusing.

Can any of you guys explain how I can make this adjustment?

Did you buy it from a dealer? If so, I would take it to them and ask for some help. If you bought it used, try going to the dealer anyway. You're going to need them down the road.
