Hydro is Slowing when turning.

I have a JD HD 45 and I just traded up from a belt drive. When I hit the break lever to go right it slows way down. To the point where I think it may stop. Not so bad when pulling a left turn though. The hydro lubricant is at the right level, so what could it be? I'm new to the hydro system so I'm a little green on the mechanics of it. Should it be slowing right down?

so when you push the right hand control forward it slows way down, but when you turn left its not so bad? more details please
