I have a scag walk behind I bought used last spring. Ever since I have owned it, I can move the mower with the dump valve closed. The mower pulls good and seems to be working decent. What could be the problem? Could the dump valves not be sealing well? Any information would be appreciated.

I have a Skag Hydro MWB with a weak left side pump, runs fine cold and in cool weather, summer comes, gets hot and the pump gets weak. I'm guessing you are talking about the bypass relief valve on the hydro pump itself, which can only run with it screwed in, to move the mower with the engine off, you have to backoff the bypass to release the fluid pressure, I'm confused. Must be a lack of communication, cause the bypass has to be closed to move the fluid from the pump to the wheel motor.
