Hello All I need to build a dry Creek Bed And need some pics to use as a example. I would like all the help I can get

Need some info before pics, does the dry creek bed have water running during rain ? How much water and what is the flow? what is your grade like..............do u wanter boulders through out and along the sides or just rip rap and chain link used to hold rocks in place?

Here's one we just did. A bit more of a dry creek representation, slightly retained to keep the mulch out.

It was made into a cistern to control run-off from the driveway.

Under the river rock is row after row after row of ADS 4" pipe side by side and stacked to act as a horizontal cistern.

The creek bed cistern handles overflow from the pond during rain.

Thinking about doing one at our place next year.

I'm going to redo my dry creek which is in a depression to add a liner under it to flow water from a planned waterfall.

Its a nice span for a slab or stone.

What is the best thing to put under the rocks? I would like to put a small one in my back yard as when it rains heavy it is always wet back there because it is not graded right. Any info on how to do it would be great. Thanks

I really like the one shown by Keith Howells.

The 1st one shown by Gopher (assuming it is not his work, but his Internet search) is a good example of what not to do- (IMO of course). Mixing field stone boulders and glacial river rocks is VERY unnatural and looks bad.

I think examples of what not to do are just as important as those of nice examples of what to do.
