I am changing my name to "Sahara Landscaping". im in the process with the city right now. anyone have any opinions? i figured it suggested beautiful breath taking horizons and agriculture. down here in mississippi, i plan on doing alot of work with Palm trees and tropical flowers and such so thats my reasoning for the name. My wife already told me the desert and landscaping dont go together but i wanted a few more opinions. Lawn Enforcement just seems too silly and cliche'ish. i dont want to keep showing up with a printed badge and some kind of dorky theme to my business that people get a chuckle out of. i want them to look my business like, " those guys at sahara know what the hell they are doing" and things like that. instead of handing them a citation for letting their yard get out of control and telling them all is in order now. just kinda cartoonish in my opinon. whats your opinions?

I agree with you wife. How about Tropical Landscaping? Since you plan on doing work with palm trees and tropical plants.

well thanks for the advice. i did think about tropical. it just doesnt have the fire that Sahara has when you say it singularly. and it may just be me, but when i think tropical, i think of oranges and tucans. or the rain forest. i need Canary Island Date palms and sagos and queen palms and that sort of thing.

i think sahara has a good ring to it...i'm in the same process, ours is "bell's mowing, give us a ring!" and our color is lime green so i see where you are coming from ha...people aren't going to look too much into it, i think you'd be safe going with sahara although i wouldn't limit your options, come up with some more options with sahara being your first pick and see what others have to say about it

Oasis is where i started. funny you say that..haha. but i googled and there are a few with websites and whatnot. for some reason, sahara came to me instantly after oasis and i didnt find any trace of a co. operating in that name so i quickly chose between the 2. im not disinclined to Oasis, but sahara has 1 check above Oasis for the simple fact that there are none. so it would be original. other names i came up with were Mojave, Mirage, Tropical, 4 Palms, and a few more.

never thought of utopia. good thinking. ill have to run these by my wife and see what she thinks. for some reason though i keep coming back to sahara. i just like the sound of it. regardless of what it represents, (alot of sand and not alot of landscape) i think it could represent beautiful horizon, palm trees, and i guess other thing if the customer really took the time to dwell on my name instead of my service. yall have helped me out alot. i was expected a total flame.

All due respect... and no offense intended... but too many people choose their company name based on what they like... when it is really all about what a customer will like and what will attract business.

i agree 100%. i even went over that in my head. but i kept coming to the thought of panama beach fl, with the palm trees and beautiful scenery and landscaping all around. i thought, who wouldnt love a nice arrangement of palms and sagos and what not. i just really love that stuff. i plan on specializing in that style landscape installations and things and i like the word/location so figured why not. and i just went with it.
