I read on this board Stick vs Power Walkbehind. I tried to do everything with my string trimmer.

I tried a stick edger by sthil....WOW!! Now I understand why you guy's say go with a stick edger.

Now I'm ready to trade my McClean Edger for a stick. So far I haven't came across anything a stick couldn't handle. I understand why some of you guy's have a power edger sitting at home.

    Anybody want to trade?

I purchased a straight shaft stick edger a couple of weeks ago and it works great on an existing edge. Fast as I can walk. The initial edge or a overgrown edge that has not been maintained does best with the heaver wheeled edger. The stick edger wants to lift out of the edge when no previous edge is present. I asked this question to our associates on this board and as usual, the Lawnsite Team was on target with this information. If you can, have both. Use the stick edger for established edges. Use the wheeled edger for the first edge or if the edge has not been maintained to re-establish the edge.

    Best regards
