my brother in law works for lowes. he called and told me they are selling "torn bags" of mulch for 25 cents a bag. i told him I'd take as many as i can get. i went and took a look at them and they looked like good mulch, double or triple processed. I picked up 20 today and I'm hoping to get another 100 bags. BTW, they are 2 and 3 cubic feet. Question is - to my customer do I look like a scrub coming to do the job with 50 bags bags in my truck and trailer? Has anyone else ever used only bagged mulch before?

I want to look professional, but if I can get good mulch for 2.25 per yard....I can't pass that up!

I would just dump out the bags in your truck and they will never know.

I thought about that, but I also thought about how much easier than having to use a wheel barrow to move it from the truck to the bed.

Bag mulch is the most common here.
Take a roll of packing tape to close 'em up before you move them around.

For a quick small job we just used 30 bags of the mulch you are talking about .. but it was only 50% off. I always ask if they have broken bags (which they usually do) ... and buy what they have if I have something really small to dress up.

This particular Lowes didn't advertise it or anything (most don't anyway) ... but you would be surprised how many people go in to buy the busted stuff.

This is going to be close to 4 yards of mulch. if my calculations are correct that is between 50-60 bags of mulch.

Grab them up don't put it off or they will be gone! No you will be just fine with bagged mulch, lots of pro's use it sometimes, for that price who cares? You can sell it full price and make some $$. If you get a quantity.

great thing is - i get first dibs cause he works in the warehouse. he's the first to process the damaged bags. I might have a side business starting up soon!

I've decided I don't care if I look like a scrub. The work will speak for itself. Plus it will save a whole lot of time and money. If the customer says anything I'll tell them that I'm doing it in bags because I don't want to drop 4 yards of mulch on their new concrete driveway.
