What is the best way to install a flagstone walkway around a pond?

It needs to be permenant and the customer wants it to overhang the edge of the pond 4 inches or so.

    Any suggestions?

You'll want to use really oversize flagstone dry-laid, or you'll have to pour the pond edges in concrete for stability.

If I dry lay it what is going to hold it togeter? What kind of material do you put in the joints so it doese.t leech into the pond?

It needs to be permenant so nothing goes into the pond

if you had large, weighty, enough flagstones then its own weight would keep it in place. you could slap some mortar into the joints to keep dirt from washing into the pond.

what size flagstones are you looking into using?
