Do you know of licensing that you need to strt a landscapeing buisness in jersey? thanks,
To plant anything or do anything that NJ considers a home improvement, I think it is anything that costs more than $500 you need the HIC license.
To spread any fertilizer or pesticide you need a commercial pesticide license.
I am not sure what the law is if you are using and spreading organic materials. If anyone knows please chime in.....
If you want to get into irrigation or lighting you probably need licenses too.
I hope that is all you need in NJ or I might be in some trouble....
You are right any work/contract that is over $500 you need a Home Improvement Contractors License which will run you about $90/year and will take about 30-60 days to get cause the consumer affairs department in Newark is slow. If you go to the networking section and click on NJ and go to page 53-57 I posted a thorough guide to getting a business started in NJ. Im not sure which page it is on but it is on one of those pages.

Xclusive: Im having a real hard time finding that thread you said you wrote up about starting a business. Im real interested to read thru it and see what I forgot to do as I am almost certain I forgot to do something. If you get a minute could you post a link? I have been searching for about 1/2 hour and no luck....
