A rig featuring this and other specialized productivity boosting Intelli-Spray features was recently demonstrated at a regional invasive weed/invasive species control conference at US Fish and Wildlife Training HQ in West Virginia. I'm wondering if there is anyone here using elements of this "out-of-the-box-thinking" system? Looks perfect for me as a solo operator if I can find a fabricator to custom my 3+ rigs...2 pu truck and one boat.

Big feature is the elimination for need of a hose-minder and second crew member as I work solo and the Municipality has eliminated PT Assistant Staff, thereby mothballing the existing old-school and conventional weed spray rig.

    Thanks for any insight.

You can buy electronic to put on your present electric power reel for under a $ 100. I looked into it and decided it wasn't for me. One of the reasons for the Narrow reel design in so the hose will level wind. I believe that model is also limited in the Amount or length of hose it can handle.

My engine drive backpacks really shine in situations where a hose is a PITA to handle. With the right nozzles on the hand piece, it is possible to apply 20 GPA fast. Some of the terrain I deal with makes it such that I rather carry an 85 lb machine rather that have to pull 300 ft of hose.
