I have interior lights, but my truck lights have to be on for them to work. I want to add a battery to the trailer and be able to light the lights with that, independent of the truck. The trailer is wired with a 4-prong plug. Can someone tell me how to do this?

Find the wires that run the lights and trace them back to where you want to mount the battery. There should be two. One for power and one for ground. Place an in line fuse on the power side, I do not know what the draw of your lights are but a 5 amp is probably alright. attach them to the battery on the appropriate sides. Only problem with this set up there is no way to charge the battery, I would look into a small solar charger.
