Has anyone tried out the Rain Bird CMS Pro software for parts inventory and scheduling? We currently use CLIP for our lawn maintenance scheduling and it’s a great program if you have a set static schedule, but it’s not the best for dynamic scheduling.

Does anyone else have other suggestions for a program like this?

CMS from Rain Bird, I put a call into them and after two weeks of waiting for a call back I just gave up.

    Call Hindsite direct.
The company is out of MN and they are great to work with. Going through RB can be a PIA. Not that they can't get it don but why not go to the top. It is really impressive. If you make a 100% effort to get it started it save you alot of billing time. It also works with Quick books. It can be set up for any service that you sell. Guys even use it for snowplowing.

It is mainly irrigaiton software (or for a dynamic-route based service). If anyone is looking for irrigation software, try Pretty nifty software package (office, front-end (client), and mobile dispatching all in one).

Look into Aquaquote. I think the website is, or Their software is quite adaptable to whatever you use frequently, you can build different part groups, so that when you select a nozzle, for example, it automatically selects the head you prefer, the nipple, the swing pipe, etc. You have to set it up, but once it is set up I think it is pretty handy. We are in the process of setting it up for our preferences, can let you know later if it helps our margins. :) One thing I do know, is the support in setting it up is very helpful. You can actually get a human on the phone, or they get back to you pretty fast via email. They also offer training.

i took a quick look and this looks like it is heavily geared toward irrigation. although it mentions design, i dont see anything regarding landscape design. maybe i am missing something?

    thanks again

Very impressive. I run my QBKs on Mac so I need to check if that would work on Mac as well.
