is 23hp good?

    I've been looking at this mower in my area and its a 2000 toro z master with a 23hp engine, is that low power for the norm. of zero turns or middle or what? Would a 23hp mower have enough hp?

    What size deck does it have? That's a huge factor.

    That being said, my first ztr was a 2000 Cub Cadet M60 Tank with a 60" deck and 23hp Kawasaki. Maybe I was just too excited over my first commercial mower but I never thought it was underpowered. :)

    The 19hp Kawasaki never ceases to amaze me. A 23hp is very good. Is it a Kawasaki or Kohler?

    As has been already stated, the size deck has alot to do with how good that 23hp is. If it's on a 60" deck, it may not be so hot (depends on the design of the deck and your cutting conditions). If it's on anything smaller, it's ample power. These days, 25-28hp on a 52" is not uncommon...

    My guys have been very impressed with the 23hp Kohler on our new
    48" GHS Walkers. They were used to the 26EFI's.
