I am looking to buy a cab-over with a vanscaper box on it. A local dealer has a really good deal on a Bering LD15. I am pretty sure that Bering is not sold in the US anymore, so does anyone know where to get parts ets... Also, how reliable are the bering trucks, the Detroit Diesel, and the Allison Tranny?

I know Isuzu's are by for the most popular, but they also cost alot more than the Bering. Do you think that it would be worth it to spend the extra for an Isuzu? what is the reliability on the Isuzu?

Ive looked all over the web and can't find any reliabilty info for commercial trucks.

    Thank you!

I thought about Bering awhile back and I had a close friend at a ex-Bering dealer.

You cannot get parts for the truck, no one sells Bering trucks.

I figured it wouldn't be too bad because Detroit and Allison were both in business, but apparently its tough to find any place to work on it.

The reason they're so cheap is for a reason.

I'd stay away, unless you buy it for the body then sell the cab and chassis on ebay.
