GOD! I'm so sick and tired of running ads trying to get help and hearing the same old stories. My Wife was at my sons soccer game a few weeks ago. Long story short, the assistant coach, younger guy, needed a job. He works p/t at a music store, has no car, has a wife and a child, desperatley needs to get a decent job. He called me the other day asking if we needed help, even part time. I said yes, we chat for a few minutes told him to meet us Sat. (today) and guess what....hes a no show, imagine that. We are also hiring for sidewalk snow shoveling at a whoppin' 25-30 bucks an hour if not more,(215.00 in 5-6 hours of work!!!!!! Ive had at least 30-40 calls and a whole 4 people put in aps. Im so tired of whinning spoiled little brats b!tching about boo hoo I have no moey I need a job, when what they really mean is I'm lazy and dont want to work but I want paid. Tied of F'ing losers!

If I remember correctly you had the same issues up there last year. Sorry to hear about the situation that you are in. Hopefully things will change for you and you can find some decent help.

JP
Hey JP. Your 100000% correct. I actually hired AND fired 5 or so guys this year. I thought I found the "golden child" ....yeah he turned out to be a real piece of work. Im paying sidewalk guys (for snow shoveling) 25-30 bucks n hour and no intrest in actually applying. Hopefully next year right?

How can you guys expect the cream of the crop?? Its the nature of the business. Landscapers atract the lower end of the totem pole. People with little desire to better themselves or their career. The exceptions to that are the owners or college kids looking for some beer money.
Im not expecting the cream of the crop at all. It would be nice to see some one show up when they say they will for a change though. If I had a wife and kid and needed money I dont think I would blow off my first day!

I thought I saw three people in your truck yesterday?...If so, where did you find the help in short notice?
Those were my normal guys. I have 3 pt guys, all but one have other ft jobs. Wanna do some plowin' this year? Ive ran an ad for 2 weeks now and one guy for plowing has called. He was supposed to come over yesterday evening but never showed or even called. I really dont get guys around here. I talked to one other guy who was plowing for the landscape company at w32 and Sterritania making 30 bucks an hour and averaged 4 hours a storm last year.....I offer him 33-35 to start and he would have averaged at least 5-6 hours of plowing. He wanted to stay where he was. I dont get it, he b!tches about them but wants to stay there :hammerhead:

I will agree with an actual business property BUT..... if I can do everything from my property I just cant justify spending 1500.00 a month or so on a property when there is no need to. I'm caught in a catch 22 I guess.
