I have a Quicktrak 657 with a leaky fuel tank. JD says they are subbing out the replacement tanks to "Multi-Parts" and they want $144.00 for a replacement tank. Does anyone have an idea where I can buy a fuel tank. (one that does not require a second mortgage....ha)!

Look in the bone yard area a lot of repair shops have.
You might find what you need there.

Late last summer I noticed a leak in my 647 (04 Model), took it in to have it checked. Local JD dealer informed me that there was a defect in the original tank design and replaced it for nothing. I'm not sure if there was an actual recall on the original tank design ever issued...but you might look into it. I believe both models have the exact same fuel tank. Hope this helps.

Deere would not replace it as warranty. They did, however, offer a replacement tank for $60.00. They said it would not remedy the potential leak problem, but it was cheaper than the newly, re-designed model.
