I looking at z520 to use on smaller lots and and small residentail yards, I have five foot lazer but need somehing another smaller one. I will probably get about 125-150 hours a season. Just wondered if anyone was running them.
For the price of that z520, you may want to look into a left over z800 series. The '09 z800's were actually okay mowers and for the amount of hours you plan on putting on the mower, you may want to go with an 800. The price should be pretty similar, just a little more.
The z500 series is an "in between" mower. It is built tougher than your average residential mower but not quite built like the full commercial series. For the hours you will put on it, you could probably get by without a problem, but the 800 series would overall, last longer.
The price difference would proabably be under $1500, from two dealers I talked to but I dont know if I want an 800 series. I talked to several dealers and owners of 500's but haven't got an answer on what they are capable of compared to a small 800 or 900 series. My thinking is I would rather have a new 500 than a like new 800 series, but I not set on anything yet.
