I found a deere 2002 1435 4wd at my dealer with 60" decks and mc600 collection system at a great price. Is anybody here can tell me if 24hp is enough to run this. Im thinking about taking off de collection system during the summer and putting a mulching kit and using the collection system in the fall for leaves. I don't want to bug in thick grass and this would be only for commercial use.

    Thank you for the comment!

The 24 hp from John deere will run that unit easy. Lots of torque.
Contrary to popular belief, diesels rarely need anything close to gas hp to do a fantastic job. I've got the F1145 diesel with the 72" and it's a piece of cake even in wet grass.

I had the exact machine, 1435 4wd MCS600 and 60 inch deck. Please do a search deere 1435 and you will see a my post and issues I had with the machine. I personally think you will be disappointed if you don't go with at least 31 hp or 36 hp for that set up.
    Good luck, gjsnow.
