I have a JD GX1320 that will not even attempt to engage the blades. Is there a fusable link, fuse or other safety shut off that I am missing?

yes there should be a fuse, look for it somewhere in the line previous to the engagement switch.

To those with this problem, I replaced my battery which I knew I needed anyway. I had been starting with my booster charger two weeks in a row. Lo and behold, I depressed the blade engage button and it worked. My only explanation is that there was insufficient power to send a signal from the electronic switch.

Had the same problem last year. Weak battery will not let the clutch engage. Needs a certain voltage to engage it.
