I plan on starting my project in a week or so.. Any tips would be great thanks.. I am in the NY area
I plan on spraying my entire lawn with roundup, and after it all dies i will cut it down real short with my mower and seed with a power seeder..then water water water.. am i missing anything? and has anyone ever used this seed before?
are u asking us or telling us
asking.... I am new to this whole thing.. am i at least on the right track
I would say you are on the right track. Make sure that if you are using a slice seeder that you use the checker board pattern, applying 1/2 rate of seed in each direction. This will prevent rowing. Also, I would suggest core aerating the lawn prior to slice seeding. This will not only relieve soil compaction but it will also provide a better seed bed after the cores are broken up by slicing. I also like to apply the starter fertilizer prior to seeding. I feel that this moves the fert into the soil more effectively.
