I'm just starting out. My goal this season is to build a loyal, but expected small, residential customer base. What size/type of mower do you all think I should start off with?

Most of my accounts will be small 1/2 - 1.5 acre lots.

I was initially planning on going with a 36" Ferris w/b. My thinking was that this mower will be able to get through narrow gates and such. However, now i'm thinking I might should go bigger.

New 36" Ferris or Used 48" other?

The two MAIN things to consider are - DO NOT finance it and how much are you spending? :usflag:

I'm looking to spend under or around $3000. Less than that would be great considering my circumstances, but willing to go $3000.

The Cub Commercial G1548 (WB) is a good mower for under $2800.

    Check out Ebay Item #7761644094.

Go with the 36. I know the 48's size looks like it will get stuff done faster but not as much as you think. Go with the new ferris, its new and reliable.
