How long have the Kawasaki® FR Engine series been out? I see this is classified as a home owner version of owning a Kawasaki engine. Is this engine made in Japan or the USA:usflag: or God forbid, China? Just seems some dealers are making a big deal about these engines when to me it still is a home owner engine not commercial.

I can not find any info on the quality of this engine. Today I did send an email to Kawasaki asking what makes this engine a residential model and not commercial. If I get a reply I will post. This must be a new engine for 2010?

Today I got to talk to a dealer who sells Scag and was looking at the freedom mower, now it is on my short list. Anyway I ask about the FR series and was told as compare to the FX and FH they all use the same engine blocks and I take it same internals. The main diffrence is the air filter housing, the plastic outside body and I think she said the carbs may be a little diffrent. Seems it would not be a deal breaker on which series. Still waiting on a reply from Kawaski.
