My 48" lesco/hydro with a 17 hp kawi walk behind started to bog down today when the blades were engaged. I blew out the air cleaner did't make any difference. I haven't checked the plugs yet. Could it be the coil? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I searched the threads for an answer but didn't come up with much. I'm sure the answer is here some place.

    Check under the deck.

Loose spark plug or blown head gasket are a couple possibilities.

As MOW PRO suggested check your deck, You could have a idler pulley or blade spindle trying to lock up.
