I have a 36" Scag Walk behind with a Kawasaki fb460 12.5hp that has an electric clutch blade engagement. I have been told the engine needs replaced. I also have a fc420v 14hp that is on my older Bobcat walk behind mower. The Bobcat fc420 does not have an electric clutch engagement. I want to put the 14 hp engine on the 36" walkbehind. Is this possible?

My question is can I take the alternator off the fb460 12.5hp engine and put it on the fc420 14hp engine? The crankshafts are the same.

Is this a fairly straight forward procedure?

    Thanks in advance.

The fb460 and the fc420 showed the same part# stator for the two spec.# I looked at there are many spec.#s ,If you post your spec.#s from both engines I can tell you for sure.
