I have a John Deere 425 lawn mower with Kawasaki FD620D that has the plastic cam gear replaced with new cam and metal gear, new govern gear and water pump gear. Now it runs good until I start the blades then it bog down some for a few seconds. When I go up a small incline it bog down so much it dies. I also like to know what's the valve-rocker arm clearance.

Is the valve cover gasket reuseable on the LC Kawi's? Or is there even a gasket? Just some schmootz?

They have a rubber 'O' -ring type seal, So if they are in good shape one could put a thin coat of loctite gasket eleminator on them and reuse them. Spray a little carb. & choke cleaner on a rag and remove the oil from the 'O'-ring and head surface before putting the sealer on.
