Someone please explain to me why this switch won't kill the engine? Even if I put the red and black wire together it won't kill the engine. I've replaced the button on the throttle arm this morning hoping it would fix it but it doesn't? What am I missing? I'm getting really tired of having to pull the spark plug wire off to **** it down. I was under the impression that when you hit the off button it basically shorts it out and kills the engine. I tested it by touching the two wires together and nothing. I checked all the wires and they don't have any breaks anywhere. The new button came with half the wiring except for the wires coming out of the coil and they look ok?

I'm slowing switching to stihl now, started with trimmers this year. Fs94r has been killin it. I always preferred redmax blowers but they have broke left and right this year and they are only on their second season. So back to the switch. I totally eliminated the kill switch and did everything I could think of with just the two wires coming out of the coil. Still nothing. I'll have to get a multimeter out and see what I can find.

Yes, the only thing I can come up with is the wire isnt grounded in the throttle handle. It is grounded on the engine wear the coil mounts. I just don't think it's work the time and money fixing it since I can kill the engine by choking it or pulling the wire off the plug

My guys have been loving the Fs94r also. It's very light and powerful. We started switching back to Stihl last year. I have a lot of redmax still but when it breaks , I replace it with stihl. I have a 7500 and 8500 that have been in the shop since November because the small block cracked . These were 3 months old. Red max runs great, when it runs. Key word: WHEN
