Just saw this add in a magazine. I didn't even know Kohler was working on a 40 hp engine. I'm not sure if it is for ZTR applications or not. Anyone know anything about this engine? I've been hearing about the big 38 hp Kohler and some big Kawasaki's coming out but the top brands seem to be sticking with big Briggs for now. I just wonder if Exmark, Scag, Toro, etc will start using some of these larger engines? If this 40 is a vertical engine which it seems to be it would just what Hustler needs for those big pumps and wheel motors.

Just another way to increase gas comsumption. I really think that would be over kill on a Z, unless its a 80 plus inch mower with a passenger seat...

Wow I would not know what to do with all that power. I got a 19hp Kawi and thats all the power i need. It rarely bogs and I mulch. Even wet yards this engine chugs along fine, sipping gas and saving me money.

What about a Toyota 22R 4 cylinder on a ZTR? Great engine!

Put a weed wacker & blower rack on it. No need for a trailer or truck.
