I have an Exmark walk behind with a Kohler command 14hp recoil start. The motor starts like a dream first or second pull, runs great for a few minutes, then dies suddenly like you flipped a switch and no matter what you do will not start again for two or three hours. I have replaced the fuel, fuel lines and fuel filter, pulled the carb off and cleaned it, i'm pretty sure the float is working, replaced the spark plug, air filter and checked all the wires and sensors to make sure they are working. It blows a little smoke when first started and I need to replace the exhaust gasket, otherwise I can't find anything wrong.
Any help is appreciated.

I checked it and the spark is gone after it dies. Thanks for the idea. It has a magneto rather than a coil and condenser. Prices aren't bad. Dose anyone have an idea for a good gap? I'm going to check it before I take it apart, but i'm not sure what it's supposed to be.
Thank for the help.

Use a standard business card to gap the module at the flywheel.(about 0.010) Start the bolts in the module and tighten just enough to hold it in place;put the business card across the p/u shoes of the module and turn flywheel at align module and magnets. Loosen module bolts and let it pull itself to the flywheel. tighten bolts then turn flywheel to remove the card. VIOLA !
