kohler v. briggs and stratton

    what is the difference between the kohler 23 hp engine that john deere uses and the b&s 22 hp they also use, besides the obviouse 1 hp dif. thank you

    There is a big difference. The Briggs Intek is a comsumer grade engine made for light use like a homeowner mowing his/her yard once a week. The Kohler is a commercial engines that was born to run. The Kohlers are made to run all day every day as they would in a commercial application.

    You sure he wasn't referring to a Vanguard? Those are tough engines, in fact they are the standard in 1/4 Scale Tractor pulling circuit. The Briggs in my JD GT-235 is a Vanguard.
