komatsu 714 skid

    Does any one run Komatsu 714 skids,I have one but don't see to many around.Why is that?

    I talked to a Komatsu salesman when they came out and there was some things I liked but I have never seen a Komatsu skid out in the wild.

    They have some funny lifting system in their vertical path loders, my Dad calls that set up a torque multiplier, one bigger main cylinder does the lifting while a smaller one pulls down.

    I'm confused: where is there a second set of lift cylinders? (picture copyright Komatsu)


    [Edit: I think I see what you're saying... although I'm still not convinced it's two different lift cylinders as much as it is an interesting geometry of how the lift cylinder is attached to the boom arm.]

    Something I forgot to say was, I think the dealer(read salesman) here don't want to chase or work so hard when they could sell a big peice of equipment and make way more.

    Looks like they changed it, the earlier models had a cylinder inside the rear of the loader towers, that was many years ago that I looked at one.
