I am having trouble with a kubota diesel engine D722-E. The engine will crank up fine. But when you move the tractor the engine pulls down and you feel a loss of power. If you engage the blades the engine draws down and never seems to pick back up to full power, it gets worse if you are trying to mow lush grass or are going up and incline.

This is on a Grasshopper unit and I have checked to make sure that the hydro pumps and pto clutch are not adding improper drag on this engine.

Has anyone run into this before and what was the fix?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated

It is a fuel problem. Start with the filter. if the filter is OK check the water speperator. Could possible be the governor linkage on the injection pump make sure all the fuel linkage is clean and lubed
