Looking at a Kubota ZD221 for $10,200, is the 21 hp enough for a 54" deck
What are my pros and cons

Also looking at the ZD221, but with the 48" deck. With the diesel, it should handle the 54" pretty well. Pros--good gas usage, lots of torque, long life. Cons--about the only one I can think of is price, but the ones I've priced a few hundred miles to your east is about $1000 less. I've been quoted $9200 from 2 dealers locally and there's only about a $200 difference between the 48" and 54". A JD Ztrak 925A MOD was about the same price (just for comparison).

I have been looking at the Kubota also. The ZD323 was priced to me at 11550.

Hey rreyn1812, How is your Titian holding up? I work for Nissan at my day job. They are modifing the equipment to put a manual in the Titian for the 2011 model year. I think it will be a 6 speed.

the kubota is a great machine, and trust me the power is there, we used to have a 21hp 60in and it was enough for that machine(it wieghed less as it was n early model). wenow use the 326 and it is a great machine.

It's a great truck!! Solid as a rock and pulls my 16' trailer every day with a lot of equipment without a whimper. Well, a 6-speed might just help with the fuel mileage. Pretty sad overall. W/O the trailer, it gets about 13-15, and with the trailer it gets about 10. Just recently put in a K&N air filter (stock replacement) and went to Mobil 1 and I am seeing a .3 to .5 MPG increase and probably more on the highway, taking it easy, W/O a trailer.
