I was wondering what the going labour rates are for general yard work? Includes Limbing trees , mulching, and bed edging by hand.i am in the Northeast.

Most of those are best done non hourly. Lets say you can get 50 a yard labor for mulch and you give them an hourly. Then you feel real good that day and hump 5 yards in 1 hour. You worked harder and dont get any more. Or you are tired and the same amount takes you all day, should the homeowner pay for that? It really depends on your costs. I wont do anything for less than 40/man hr. Usually more. At 40/man hr I only see a few bucks from each worker by the time I pay wages/taxes/taxes/taxes/and more taxes. That is for my employees. I charge at least 15 more per hour for myself. It also depends what kind of job we are doing, what equipment we use, etc.
